Contest Overview
This inaugural Poster Contest presents an opportunity for our young people to express their creativity and share their vision of Peace and Love through art. Participants are encouraged to portray their life experiences, culture and traditions in responding to the theme. The following rules and guidelines shall apply:
Rules and Guidelines
- The Poster Contest is open to all Saint Lucian-based young adults between the ages of 12 to 14 on February 1st, 2022, that are in school or youth/community groups.
- You must register to take part in the contest. To register, click the Register Here link below.
- To participate, you must be either a young person at in a local Saint Lucian school or youth/community group.
- Each poster is judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme.
- All posters must be submitted digitally. Please upload only one image of your poster. Automatic disqualification for more than 1 image uploaded.

Please remember to add ONLY your Participation Registration Number in the subject along with your category. Do not include your name as part of the naming of the file.
For example, a typical naming of a file can be: PRN-1423X - Your poster must not have been published, self-published, published on a website, or been placed first, second or third, or been submitted or awarded a prize in any other competition.
- You will have one entry into the competition.
- Each entry must be the work of only one participant.
- The entry must capture the contest theme for the year: Increas- ing Our Cultural Confidence During Covid19.
- Your original creative piece of artwork can use a variety of art mediums including charcoal, crayon, pencil and painting, drawing, cartoon and photo collage.
- Entries must be 2 Dimensional. 3 Dimensional models are not eligible for the competition.
- Although artworks will be submitted digitally, please consider the following artwork dimensions. This is especially important if your entry wins the contest:
a. It must be no smaller than 14 inches by 21 inches (35cm by 53cm).
b. It must be no larger than 21 inches by 28 inches (53cm by 71cm).
c. The artwork must not be matted or framed.
d. The artwork must not be laminated.
e. Note: Chalk, charcoal and pastel entries should be sealed with a fixative spray to prevent smearing. - The artwork must be an original piece of work and must be your own work. Duplications are not accepted.
- Please retain your original piece of work until the announcement of a winner. Should your piece win, it may be requested by Contest administrators.
- Entries cannot be altered once submitted.
- Submitted work will not be returned, so please retain a copy.
- The artwork must not contain any item that is glued, stapled or attached to it in any way.
- Nothing must appear (visually) which would identify you as the entrant. For example, there must NOT be any visible lettering or numbering or personal code embedded on the front of the poster, in any language.
- All artist signatures or initials should be written on the back of the poster. Be sure to include your Participation Registration Number (PRN) conspicuously at the back of your poster.
- The judges evaluate all the entries; their decision is final. Neither the judges nor Friends of Saint Lucia personnel will enter into any correspondence.
- The copyright of each artwork remains with the artist. However, artists of the winning artwork by entering the competition, grant Friends of Saint Lucia International the right in perpetuity to publish and/or broadcast and use their artwork. Use of the artwork elsewhere for one year from the date of winners’ announcement is subject to permission from Friends of Saint Lucia International.
- Friends of Saint Lucia International retains the right to amend these terms and conditions without any notice but remain obliged to communicate any such changes it makes.
- Deadline for submission is Friday October 22nd, 2021. All late entries will be automatically be disqualified.
